Shoes

My mom thought that it is weird to be wearing transparent jelly shoes to make your feet look like as if they don't have shoes on. Got 2 or 3 odd looks on my feet when I ran errands with it today as well, they probably thought I didn't wear shoes. XD
I was also thinking that, if I ran really fast with my lovely jelly shoes on, haha, maybe more people would think I have no shoes on?
Why is it so weird to wear 'invisible' shoes? I mean the reason of wearing shoes itself is a very different from wearing clothes. Shoes is just to protect your feet, as long as I am 'physically' wearing shoes, then it is ok, why care if I am visibly wearing shoes? A hint of similarity to the emperor's new clothes, really.
